Q. My dark hair used to be glossy, but recently it's become dull and monotone. Why has this happened and how can I get the shine back ?
A. Brown hair that isn't in top condition can quickly look lacklustre. The daily wear and tear from brushing and styling can roughen up the cuticles and stop them reflecting the light. Hair in poor condition is more porous, and this causes the hair to absorb rather than reflect the light, leaving it flat and dull. You need to get your hair back into prime condition to rediscover the gloss factor. Firstly, quench those thirsty locks with an intensive treatment. SP Keratin Oil is a unique formula that rebuilds the structure of the hair. Use it in conjunction with a Hydro Mask Treatment for unbeatable condition and shine. Keep up the good work by switching to a rich, moisturising shampoo and conditioner such as SP Hydro Shampoo and Hydro Milk. The next step is to protect your hair against further damage. Smooth a little SP Perfect Hair Cream through the lengths to shield your hair against heat damage from your hairdryer and irons. By now your hair should be back to its former glossy self. Finish off with a sprits of SP Flashlight for ultimate shine.

Q. I have had the same short back and sides cut since I started school, what styles are trendy for men at the moment ?
A. It's so easy to get stuck in a hair rut, especially for men who don't necessarily discuss the latest catwalk trends down the pub ! However, it doesn't take much to give your barnet a whole new look. There are two major trends for men's hair right now. You can either go for the classic clean-cut look, think George Clooney, or a more deconstructed, edgy look with longer fringes and choppy. Talk to your stylist about your hair ambitions and he/she is bound to have loads of ideas that will suit your face shape, hair type and lifestyle. While you're waiting for your hair to grow into its cool new look, you can always pep up the style with a few well-chosen styling products. Try mussing up your hair with SP Just Men Shine Controller. Simply rub a little between your palms and scrunch through your hair, rumpling up the texture. This ultra light styling cream won't weigh fine hair down and looks really natural. SP Just Men Extra Strong Gel has a lot more hold, so try this to take your hair in a whole new direction !

Q. I'm thinking of getting a fringe but its such a big commitment, how can I be sure it will suit me ?
A. A fringe is a great way to change your image without drama. It will draw attention to your eyes and provides a neat solution to disguising frown lines. There is a fringe out there to suit everyone. Determining factors are the shape of your face, the size of your eyes and forehead, and how far apart your eyes are. Heavy fringes are not ideal for round or square-shaped faces, but they will balance out long face shapes. A micro fringe is a tough one to carry off, but you can look amazing if your features can take it. Feathered fringes are generally flattering to all face shapes and hair types, but a severe 'Cleopatra' style fringe demands poker straight finish and can look rather harsh on older faces. A choppy textured fringe is great for thick, wavy hair, and an instant style boost. Your stylist will be able to determine the perfect fringe for you. If you're still hesitant about going for the chop, why not style your hair into a side-sweep fringe ? It will get you used to seeing hair over your forehead and crucially, doesn't require you to go near the scissors. Simply take an extreme side parting and slick the hair forward over your face, holding in place with a little Sebastian Evokativ Decadent Soft Movement C-Gel for a soft-touch finish. It's a sleek and sophisticated solution.
