SHORT STYLES : The ideal face shape for shorter styles is an oval shape with petite features - someone like Kylie. Obviously shorter styles are relatively easy to maintain but you must have your hair cut every six weeks to keep the style looking great. A great product is essential to finish the style - try Wella High Hair Punk Chic or Sebastian Crude Clay - great matt formulas for creating texture and drama.
LONG STYLES : Most face shapes will suit, except a long face shape as the long hair will accentuate the length. The key to keeping long hair fabulous is the condition. To keep is shiny and healthy; I would recommend Wella System Professional Hydro Shampoo and Hydro Mask. It's vital not to apply too much heat on a regular basis; otherwise this will dry and dull your hair. Make sure you have regular haircuts every six to eight weeks.
TEXTURED STYLES : These tend to be flattering for most face shapes and are also more versatile. Textured styles are basically layered haircuts that can create body and movement to the hair. This tends to work best on slightly longer hair if it’s too flat. A great product to make the most of your textured style is Wella High Hair Bouncy Dip which will give great shine and a light hold.
DARK HAIR - This is all about high shine. Dark hair should always have a healthy glow to it, so one way of achieving this is to have a semi permanent colour put through, followed by an intensive conditioning treatment. Both processes will give your dark hair that catwalk shine.
BLONDE HAIR : Blondes have more fun so they say but only if it's the right tone of blonde. Yellow and brassy is a big no no but platinum and ash are gorgeous. Again health and shine are key facture as blonde hair can very easily look dull and lifeless. Make sure you condition regularly with a quality treatment like Wella System Professional Repair Cream - perfect for people in a rush.
RED HAIR : Shine and health are key - red hair can easily look dull and lacklustre. Go for a warm red semi permanent colour applied for extra shine and to keep your red hair ravishing.
CURLS : Whether natural or permed, curls often lack shine and definition. Wella High Hair Curl Artist is great for creating curl definition and protects from heat. Finish with Wella High Hair Brilliant Affair. Treat those curls to an intensive conditioning treatment when you have your hair trimmed every six to eight weeks.
MEN : The 'preppy longer messy look' is still very hot, but I think that a cleaner short back and sides with a slightly longer top will make a comeback next year. For the longer styles an ideal product is Sebastian Crude Clay to give a matt unstructured look. For shorter looks Sebastian Twisted Taffy is ideal.
BOBS : These will still be big news for next year. Whether graduated at the back or the classic bob, the main difference will be the added texture by layering through the layers. This is to create a little more movement and texture and move the style on for 2008.
UPDO'S : The 'thrown up do seen are stars like Sienna Miller will still be popular but glamour will also be big next year. Think 1920's glamour with set finger waves and barrel curls, burlesque looks like Dita Von Tease. This can be achieved by leaving down or put up at the back with fringe and front setting.
MATURE : For me the only no no is very long hair or a very dark shade. Otherwise anything goes. Personally someone like Dame Judy Dench always gets it right with her urchin cut. Also colour is a massive market for mature women. Colour has moved on so much that there must be a technique and colour to suit everyone. On the other side of the coin, grey hair can look amazing with a great looking shortish cut, but make sure your grey hair is bright and silver and not dull.
FRINGES : This is the biggest must have for next year. Whether it's long and shaggy like Kate Moss, part of an Updo like Liv Tyler or swept to the side like Kirsten Dunst, all Fringes are sure to be a hit. If you have a very narrow forehead avoid having your fringe cut too deep - otherwise go for it !
