Keith Hall Hairdressing commits to the Charity Breakthrough Breast Cancer

Keith Hall Hairdressing – the largest salon group in the East Midlands – is donating £20,000 to Breakthrough Breast Cancer. On top of this they are committing to a year of additional fundraising activities to help raise funds for Breakthrough’s vital research, campaigning and education work.

Speaking about the partnership Keith Hall Hairdressing’s managing director, Darren Messias , said: “Making the decision to support one charity above others is a very tough process.

“As a group we employ a high proportion of women and around 80% of our clients are female. Breast cancer claims the lives of over 1,000 women a month in the UK alone and is the number one health concern for women in the UK . It therefore seemed a natural choice to partner with Breakthrough Breast Cancer, the UK ’s leading breast cancer charity. Breakthrough’s vision of a future free from the fear of breast cancer strikes a powerful chord in us all.

“We are donating £20,000, and will do our utmost to support all the events on the Breakthrough fundraising calendar. All of our salon teams doing a range of fundraising events within their own local communities. We’re also planning some fundraising fashion shows, with all the proceeds going to Breakthrough.”

Each of the 19 Keith Hall Hairdressing salons will sell Breakthrough’s charity pins – including the iconic pink ribbon pin - and help to promote Breakthrough’s breast awareness message which encourages women to show their breasts some TLC: Touch their breasts and feel for anything unusual. Look for changes and be aware of their shape and texture and check anything unusual with their doctor and chat with friends if they are worried.

Chris Askew, head of fundraising at Breakthrough Breast Cancer, said: “We’re delighted about the partnership between Breakthrough and Keith Hall Hairdressing. It’s great news that they are not only donating £20,000 but are also planning a busy year of fundraising activities too."
